In a town of only 6,000 people in the southern suburbs of Los Angeles, a man has been arrested after police say he stole $5,000 worth of electronics from a security guard.
It’s the latest in a series of recent burglaries at the upscale villas and apartment complexes in Pasadena that have shaken the once-safe city, where the city is among the most expensive in the country.
Police arrested 31-year-old Joshua Thomas of the same address in Pasadena, where they found a $5.7 million mansion.
Authorities say Thomas admitted to stealing electronics and $2,000 in cash.
He was booked into jail for attempted burglary, felony theft of a firearm and other offenses.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many items he was charged with.
Thomas was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for Pasadena Police Department, which is about 50 miles from the home in the suburb, wouldn’t say how many people have been arrested.
